RKW’s Patricia Featherstone re-elected as chair of the board.
June 3, 2015

Associate Editor at Nonwovens Industry
EDANA, the Association Serving the Nonwovens and Related Industries, announced its renewed Board of Governors for 2015-2017. The Board was elected by association members via electronic voting and those present at the Annual General Meeting, held in Prague together with the International Nonwovens Symposium. Patricia Featherstone (RKW) has been re-elected chair of the Board of Governors. She will be supported by vice chairs Pieter Meijer (McAirlaid’s Vliesstoffe) and Mikael S. Axelsen (Fibertex Personal Care). Treasurer Paul Eevers (Unilever) will also continue to serve for another term. Additionally, new candidate members of the Board include Richard Company (Clopay Brazil), Nina Kopola (Suominen Corporation), Christian H. Sandler (Sandler AG), and Paul Stenson (Ahlstrom Corporation). When addressing the membership, Pierre Wiertz, general manager of EDANA, thanked all Governors – representing the breadth of the nonwovens and related industries – for their continued service and their ongoing work. “The renewed Board of Governors, which comes into place from the 1st July, 2015, represents an even broader coverage of the nonwovens and related industries, meaning more focus on the delivery of valued and effective services to our member companies and to the global nonwovens and related industries,” says Wiertz. “We are delighted to welcome the new Governors, who together with their colleagues, represent not only the broad nonwovens value chain, but who represent companies of different sizes from around the globe, and who are critical in our effort to support the drive and activities of our member companies.” The role of the EDANA Board of Governors is to define and periodically review and oversee EDANA’s Vision and Mission, to provide strategic guidance to EDANA and to ensure the association operates in conformity with its governance and transparency rules. Additionally, the Board helps to ensure financial solvency, business ethics and management soundness in EDANA operations, and raise funds and other resources, (e.g. by contributing to further enlargement of membership, promoting EDANA events and industry participation), and both strives for and supports the continuous development of the Association Staff and Governors.
